Jaime de la Garza

Jaime de la Garza obtained the degree of Architect in 1996 from the Iberoamerican University in Mexico City; he also had the opportunity to work in both private and public sector. In 2001, he was invited to take the position of Technical Secretary to the General Director of the Administrative Committee for the Federal Program of School Construction (CAPFCE 2001-03). He also was an advisor to the Office of the Minister of Education (SEP) in Mexico City (2003-2006).

He has participated in a diverse range of education activities, conferences and meetings that include damage assessment committees in several Mexican entities (2003-05), CAPFCE’s International Congress on School Building Facilities (2002-2006,2008-09), and the National Disaster Fund regional meetings (FONDEN 2004-05), as well as in several OECD PEB/CELE/IMHE activities (2001-2009). He has also participated in the design and dissemination of the Quality for Educational Facilities Mexican Norm, and in the implementation of the CELE Performance Evaluation Educational Facilities Pilot in Mexico (2009).

During 2008, he was involved in the design of the Conceptual Master Plan for of the University City for the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juarez.

He presently serves as consultant for the National Institute for Educational Building Facilities (INIFED) in Mexico City.
